Target audience: Elderly people with or without dementia, neurological diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, with particular attention to those with low incomes, victims of discrimination and in situations of isolation, caregivers, social and health workers working in the field of care for the elderly, artists and cultural workers working with the elderly.

Description and objective: The general objective of the project is to raise awareness about the role of theatre in the management and improvement of the psychosocial health and well-being of the elderly, as well as as a means of prevention of cognitive impairment, to combat stigma, sense of marginalisation, loneliness and isolation. Specifically, within a partnership and governance with other realities at European level, Le Compagnie Malviste want to act to carry out a design and implement a series of participatory theater activities in favor of active aging of the elderly, affected or not by dementia, neurological diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, in which caregivers, social and health workers working in the field of care for the elderly, artists and cultural workers will also take part. The activities aim to develop and relaunch creativity, skills and unexpressed psychophysical resources, to promote self-confidence, community building, social engagement, interpersonal relationships of the recipients and to alleviate the emotional burden of  formal and informal caregivers.

The dissemination of information on ageing and in particular on ageing-related diseases will raise awareness at local, national and European level, thus fostering social cohesion, integration and solidarity, shedding light on the issues faced by target groups and promoting new forms of active ageing.

Evaluation: The monitoring and evaluation of the project will be carried out by all the partners involved under the guidance of the West Attica University and the Greek association Kinonikes Sineteristikes Drastiriotites Efpathon Omadon.
